Summer Camp Counselors for Children with Muscular Dystrophy

Hello,

My name is Amber Toy and I am the Assistant Director for a summer camp for children who have been diagnosed with muscular dystrophy. We are looking for counselors to help fulfill this amazing opportunity and be a part of something great! Will you please pass this information/flyer along to your students?

As part of MDA’s mission to improve the lives of kids with muscular dystrophy and related life-threatening diseases, MDA’s summer camp program for kids ages 6-17 is offered at no cost to families. More than 3,700 kids attend nearly 75 weeklong MDA summer camps each year. With the help of the counselors, kids create lifelong friendships, build self-confidence and develop independence. Our one-of-a-kind camps provide a life-changing experience for all who attend.

This is great hands on training for anyone interested in the medical field, PT/OT work, outdoor recreation, working with special needs populations, etc…If there is something specific you would like to get out of the experience, please let me know and I will do my best to make that happen! The week of volunteering will also provide you with 144 hours of community service, which is a great resume builder.

I appreciate your help and please let me know if you have any questions.

Thank you!

Amber
